Path Note — Handling Conflict
Conflict can feel intense, but between stimulus and response there is space (Viktor Frankl). In that space, you can choose how to act — rather than react.
➟ Pause before speaking. Take one slow breath.
➟ Focus on the situation, not the emotion.
➟ Use short, clear sentences — especially if the other person’s mindset feels rushed or heated.
➟ Speak in a calmer tone than theirs; do not match their volume or pace.
➟ Calmly assess their needs and what might be driving their reaction.
➟ Validate: “I can see this is important to you.”
➟ Gently express your wish to find a way forward together.
When you stay grounded, you protect your own boundaries while creating space for understanding and resolution.
