Emotional Health Is Now the Heart of UK Wellbeing
A 2025 UK Wellbeing Voice Insight analysis of over 600,000 monthly searches reveals something powerful: health dominates the national wellbeing conversation. Health accounts for approximately 30.1% of all Tier-1 wellbeing search volume in the UK. But what is even more revealing is how people define “health” when they search.
Within the Health category, emotional wellbeing alone represents 54.7% of all health-related search volume. That means more than half of the UK’s health-framed wellbeing searches are centred on emotional states — stress, coping, resilience, self-awareness, and psychological steadiness. Physical health and fitness appear in the data, but they are significantly smaller in comparison. The modern wellbeing narrative in the UK is not driven primarily by performance or appearance — it is driven by emotional regulation and feeling safe within oneself.
For wellbeing providers, employers, and service designers, the implication is clear: emotional health is not a niche — it is the foundation. Physical, nutritional, and lifestyle elements remain important, but they operate as supporting pillars. The strongest signal from UK search behaviour is a desire to feel better emotionally. Any wellbeing strategy that does not centre emotional wellbeing risks overlooking the true driver of demand.
