Meet the Team Behind Meaningful Paths

David Chorlton: MP founder and Co-Founder of the mountain framework

I am the Founder of Meaningful Paths and Co-Founder of the Existential Analysis Mountain Model Framework, blending the depth of existential psychology with practical tools for purposeful living. My work is driven by a belief that meaning, values, and authentic connections are at the heart of well-being.

As a certified Coach in Positive Psychology and trained in Existential Analysis, I bring a compassionate, client-centered approach grounded in real-world experience—including my time working in crisis cafés and within NHS mental health service settings. These experiences have shaped my understanding of both the challenges people face and the resilience they are capable of.

Through Meaningful Paths, my mission is to make meaningful living accessible to everyone by combining the insights of Existential Analysis with practical resources, reflective exercises, and community-focused initiatives.

Sandy ElChaar: therapist and Co-Founder of the mountain framework

I am a psychotherapist, researcher, and learning specialist with a background in Existential Analysis and Logotherapy. My work is guided by a deep interest in how people find meaning, freedom, and connection—even in the midst of life’s uncertainties.

In my practice, I accompany individuals as they explore their inner world, helping them navigate personal and professional challenges with greater clarity and authenticity. I am passionate about creating spaces where people can encounter themselves honestly, uncover what truly matters to them, and take steps toward living more meaningfully.

Beyond therapy, I have led research on mental health, organizational culture, and human development, always with the aim of translating insights into practical change. My work has allowed me to design experiences that foster growth, resilience, and creativity—whether with individuals, teams, or entire organizations.

Lee Simms: MP Co-Founder and Head Of Partnerships

I am someone who believes that living with authenticity and purpose begins with how we show up for others and the world around us. My work is grounded in the conviction that meaningful change is possible when compassion, data, and human connection come together.

I am the CEO of R2 Insight, a data-driven health intelligence company using insight to improve healthcare systems and support the wellbeing of communities. Alongside this, I founded Positive Human Impact to inspire and empower individuals to make a difference in their local communities through small acts of kindness and meaningful contribution.

I also serve as the Director General of the Fondazione Cariello Corbino, a global charity foundation dedicated to sustainable development, education, and health initiatives that nurture dignity, opportunity, and hope.

Across all of my work, my purpose is to help bridge the gap between insight and action — supporting people and communities to grow, thrive, and create positive change in the world.

Kaitlyn Kelly

Inspired by a deep awareness of the challenges young people face — including social pressures, online negativity, and the growing impact of digital media on mental health — Kaitlyn wanted to create a space that fosters confidence, compassion, and psychological strength in adolescence.

Together with her mother, she developed an empowering programme grounded in Positive Psychology and Cognitive-Behavioural strategies to help students, parents, and educators build emotional resilience, strengthen communication, and cultivate a mindset of growth and connection.

Kaitlyn brings a unique perspective as both a young adult and a student of Positive Psychology, making her approach relatable, engaging, and relevant to the reality of today’s youth culture. She has co-presented PositiviTeens® webinars to audiences across the USA and internationally, helping young people and families navigate emotional wellbeing in a changing world.

FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers

Meaningful Paths is a wellbeing platform that helps individuals, therapists, coaches, and practitioners explore meaning and purpose through the lens of Existential Analysis. We offer digital reflection cards, self-guided exercises, data insights, and a free app that support personal growth, emotional awareness, and community wellbeing.

In two key areas:

  1. We offer resources, exercises and tools to support you with your clients through Existential Analysis. This could be via an eBook of exercises, our in app library you can share with clients for in between your sessions and also our course to teach our framework.
  2. Our wellbeing insights support practitioners with knowledge on what individuals and communities search intent and needs are, and we support practitioners with how to grow their practice and serve their community.

Existential Analysis, founded by Dr. Alfried Längle, is a humanistic approach that explores what it means to live authentically, with freedom, responsibility, and connection. Our Framework draws on the Four Fundamental Motivations — the need for existence, relationship, meaning, and value — helping people move from self-reflection to purposeful action.

The Mountain Model is our visual metaphor for life’s journey. It encourages reflection on where you are now, the values that guide you, and the steps ahead. Each layer represents a stage of self-awareness — from grounding and resilience to vision and contribution — helping users move toward purposeful living.

The app provides guided reflection cards, Path Search (a keyword-based wellbeing tool), and short exercises inspired by Existential Analysis. It’s designed for quick daily insights, emotional grounding, and gentle direction — like having a companion on your journey toward clarity and wellbeing

Yes. Our reflections and exercises are suitable for individuals aged 13 and above, with parental guidance recommended for under-18s (as with any app or digital device). While our approach is therapeutic in tone, it is not a substitute for clinical therapy — it is a supportive resource to enhance wellbeing and personal meaning.
